Here We Go Again - Photo ID Back in 2010

Rep. Stanley Cox (R-118 - Sedalia) has once again filed a Constitutional Amendment during the 2nd regular session of the 95th General Assembly that would not only make government issued photo ID requirements constitutional but includes specific enabling language. The amendment is HJR 64.

It should come as no surprise that Mr. Cox would push this unnecessary and costly reform, but we will have to wait and see if it gains any traction in the face of millions of dollars in state budget cuts and bigger issues that face the state.

Regardless, as a coalition - we'll be tracking and reporting on the issue this year to ensure that registered voters without government-issued photo ID will be protected from this political bargaining chip.
