What is HJR 64, the Photo ID Ammendment?

HJR 64 would amend the Missouri constitution to require restrictive, government-issued PHOTO ID of EVERY eligible and registered Missouri Voter. The Missouri Supreme Court made it clear in its 2006 ruling that requiring costly government-issued photo ID of MO voters is unconstitutional.

Who are we?

Missourians for Fair Elections is a nonpartisan coalition of groups from across the state. Our members include voter protection groups, advocates for individuals with disabilities, seniors, religious organizations, grassroots non-profits, labor, and other groups.

We believe that the constitutional right to vote of every Missourian should be carefully protected. Proposed legislation which would impose strict identification requirements at the polls could disenfranchise up to 230,000 people across the state.

Our coalition members include AARP, Advancement Project, America Votes, GRO, Lawyer's Committee for Civil Rights, League of Women Voters, MASW, ProVote & SEIU MO State Council.
